Winter hiking on Table Mountain
Winter in Cape Town officially begins in May and lasts through August and although we are not called the Cape of storms for nothing these are some of the best months for hiking.
The days are often clear with pleasant temperatures in the high teens. The rivers and streams are flowing and the fynbos beautiful. One of the best things about our amazing plant kingdom is that there always lots of colour.
The winds also tend to be more moderate in the winter so we get less of the south Easter cloud and crispy clear views.
Of course we do get bad weather. Heavy rain, drizzle, gales anything goes. But these feed the rivers and waterfalls and don’t last too long.
So if you are planning a trip to South Africa during our winter don’t be put off by the weather. Table Mountain is beautiful at any time of year.
