No. Table mountain is not closed!

For 2 weeks every winter the cablecar up Table Mountain closes for annual maintenance but this absolutely does not mean the mountain is closed!

The surface area of Table mountain is 56km sq. It is home to 5 reservoirs, numerous gorges and streams and a multitide of hiking trails.

Most people who make use of the cablecar enjoy some lovely views but see a fraction of the mountain and only some of the views available. They also miss out on the nature and peace of the mountain. You can easily hike all day and see no one else for hours.

Here are just some of the views and routes you could enjoy.
