The skeleton gorge trail

The skeleton gorge trail on Table Mountain is one of the most popular and the popularity is well deserved.

Starting in the botanical gardens the gorge itself follows a stream through beautiful indigenous forest. The route is steep with some ladders to break up the climb.

Emerging from the trees into pristine fynbos there are magnificent views of the rest of the mountain as well as the entire peninsula and false bay.

The trail now continues to climb but less steeply towards maclears beacon which at 1086m is the highest point of the mountain.

From here we head across the front of the mountain with views of Table Bay and the city bowl.

Between maclears beacon and the cablecar the views are of the city centre

At a nice easy pace with plenty of time to enjoy the views this hike should take a moderately fir person 5/6 hours. Contact binny for further details and to book a hike.
