The Table Mountain cableway company is offering half price cable car tickets for the downward journey before 9.30am. This means you need to start walking up either Platteklip gorge or India Venster at around 7am. During a Cape Town summer this is not too early. In fact it is a great time to begin hiking. Nice and cool and ahead of the crowds. You can then be down for brunch by 10am.
