Hiking on Table Mountain in July/August 2016

Just a reminder for anyone planning on visiting Cape Town and planning to get up to the top of Table Mountain that the cableway closes for maintenance for 2 weeks every year and in 2016 these dates are from the 25th July to August 7th.

This absolutely does not mean you can’t still get to the top though. It does take a little bit more effort to hike up to the plateau but anyone who is reasonably fit can do it, and winter is a great time as its much cooler so you don’t need to start so early! And I can tell you once you’ve hiked up you will never want to ride up again. Suddenly you see the mountain as a mountain not just another view point.

There are numerous routes to choose from the quick steep Platteklip gorge to the beautiful forest and longer trails from the botanical gardens to the dramatic scenery of the 12 apostles. All are wonderful and offer you a chance to appreciate the natural beauty of the mountain.

Email Binny to discuss the route most suitable to you and the time you have available.
