The youngest hiker on Table Mountain
Of course I have no way of knowing exactly who the youngest person to climb Table Mountain or Lions Head is. But I think the youngster I saw this weekend on Lions Head must be close. At 4 years old he raced up the chains and ladders like a pro. He’s either a born climber or fear is something he’s not yet learned about. From the top of the final ladder he stopped to shout encouragement to his mum and the other “aunties” he had left far below.
Once at the top, after a short break to pose with his brother they stood still for long enough to admire the view. I think the natural beauty may have been a bit lost on them but they were thrilled to see the stadium!
