Enjoy some of The Cape’s finest sparking wine in the most magnificent settings imaginable

Cape Town’s magnificent scenery and views should be savoured and enjoyed in style.

With this is mind we have combined some scenic rambles – either gentle or strenuous – with an opportunity to enjoy some excellent Cap Classique sparkling wine made in the traditional method of champagne. Choose from the two options listed below, or tell us what you fancy and we will plan a trip especially for you.

 Kirstenbosch picnics

With its well kept lawns, shaded pathways, and the magnificent backdrop of Table Mountain. Kirstenbosch Gardens offers the perfect setting for a half day walk, followed by a relaxing and decadent feast.

Choose between a gentle amble around the gardens, or a strenuous hike to the top of Nursery or Skeleton Gorge.

There is also an option of combining this walk with one of the fabulous Kirstenbosch open-air concerts in summer- subject to availability of tickets.

Picnic includes:-

  • Selection of cold meats
  • Selection of fresh fruit
  • Homemade bread and muffins
  • Selection of cheeses
  • Savoury biscuits
  • Yoghurt and muesli (breakfast and brunch bookings only)
  • Cap Classique sparkling wine
  • Fruit juice

Sundowners (or sunuppers) on Lions Head

The scenic Lions Head, which is easily accessible from the city is popular with local Capetonians  for an early morning or late afternoon burst of energy.

It is a mild scramble of about 2 hours to the top, where we’ll celebrate with a snack, some juice and sparkling Cap Classique while admiring the full 360 degree panorama of the city, Table Mountain and the Atlantic seaboard beaches.

Cost: R695 per person.
