Another favourite Table Mountain hike

Another wonderful hike on Table Mountain I can never really say which hike on Table Mountain is my favourite, but hole in the wall has to feature in the top five somewhere. Its a wonderful route right off the beaten track. I don’t think I have ever met anyone else on this route. It is an easy scramble with a wonderful mixture of indigenous forestry, wonderful views, caves and overhangs. […]

Hiking trails above Camps Bay

Hiking trails above Camps Bay Some of the most beautiful hiking trails on Table Mountain are those that overlook Camps Bay. This is the Western side of the mountain. The side with dramatic cliff and sea scenery with fantastic views of Lions Head and the Atlantic seaboard. There are a number of possible routes up the mountain of varying levels of difficulty. The starting point for the hikes on this side of the mountain is the pipe track. This path although fairly flat offers some pretty amazing views and can be done as a walk in itself without even venturing up the mountain. Contact us for more information on the hiking trails above Camps Bay. […]

India Venster path. Table Mountain

The India Venster Path. Table Mountain The India Venster path on Table Mountain is a challenging but really fun route. You don’t need any experience but do need to be relatively fit and not be terrified of heights as there is a little bit of easy scrambling. I wouldn’t recommend doing it without someone who knows the trail as there are a number of paths leading off it that lead to climbing routes where you definitely do need ropes and other equipment so you don’t want to get lost.   […]

An early morning Platteklip Gorge hike

An early morning Platteklip Gorge hike With summer approaching I am going to have to start getting used to starting earlier in the morning, however the early morning  Platteklip Gorge  hike last week was somewhat earlier than even for the hottest day in summer. It was absolutely wonderful to see the city lights from the dark gorge and then to see the sunrise from the top. Truly an experience worth repeating. Contact Ridgway Ramblers to arrange a hike up Platteklip Gorge. We will fit in with your schedule.   […]

Hiking trails on Table Top mountain Cape Town

Hiking trails on Table Top Mountain Cape Town If you are looking for hiking trails on Table Top Mountain in Cape Town then you are at the right place. Seen from the city the towering flat topped mountain can seem somewhat daunting but there are numerous trails to be found. In fact many people are surprised by the size of the mountain once you get on top. Behind those imposing cliffs that tower above the city the mountain stretches for a further 16km. […]

Table Mountain hiking trails from Kirstenbosch Gardens

Hiking Trails from Kirstenbosch Gardens Some of the most beautiful hiking trails on Table Mountain begin in Kirstenbosch Gardens. This side of the mountain (the SE side) is the wettest side of Table Mountain and thus is far greener than the Atlantic side. Of course it doesn’t have the dramatic and stunning views of the Western side but instead the trails lead through beautiful indigenous forestry and follow small tumbling streams. […]
