Table Mountain, also has some magnificent scramble routes, to tempt the more adventurous hikers.
A scramble is a route, which although not requiring ropes, does require someone to use their hands to get up and over a couple of obstacles. It might also have some mild exposure.

India Venster Route

The India Venster route, begins at the lower cable station, and pretty much goes straight up the mountain under the car.

An exciting route, definitely not for the faint hearted, that offers some of the best views of Cape Town, Camps Bay and Lions Head.

This route can either be a half day trip, and take the cable car down.

Cost: R350 per person. (does not include the cost of the cable car)

Or a full day hike, with a choice of routes down.

Cost: R495 per person. (includes lunch)

Ask about the combination trip, which includes a 110 m abseil from the top of Table Mountain. (price given on enquiry)

prices valid 1st October 2009 – 1 November 2010 (prices from 1 Nov 2010:

R450 for a half day hike. R650 for a full day hike)
